Date Set for 2024 Blueberry Festival and New Oglethorpe Garage Event

The 2024 Forest Heights Blueberry Festival will be held on Saturday, June 1. This year, we’re also holding a festival kick-off at Oglethorpe Garage on Thursday, May 2 from 6-8 p.m. with our new organizational partner, Athens Land Trust.

This year’s festival design was created and donated by Kim Deakins — a Forest Heights resident and owner of Pink Goblin Tattoo & Piercing.

More details will follow in the coming weeks, but the festival will have the same schedule of events as last year:

  • BikeAthens Blueberry Rally For Kids in the morning

  • Blueberry Cook-off Contest in the late morning

  • Garden demonstrations in the afternoon

  • Blueberry Jam Concert in the evening

To be the first in the know, sign up for the email list (bottom of the page) on this site. Also, you can check the Festival page to see new details as they are added.

In the meantime, please be sure to also mark your calendar for Thursday, May 2 at Oglethorpe Garage. That evening from 6-8 p.m. we’ll explain the new partnership with the land trust and reveal all the cool merchandise we’re making to support the Community Blueberry Project. We’ll also hold a community forum with representatives of Athens-Clarke County and Athens Land Trust. Plus, festival co-founder, Bart King, will open an exhibit of visual art that’s been in the making for more than a decade .

A huge thanks to Kim Deakins of Pink Goblin Tattoo & Piercing for creating our incredible festival artwork this year!
