The purpose of the Forest Heights Blueberry Festival is to build community connections and culture, while also raising funds for the Community Blueberry Project.
This year the Festival will again take place in Athens’ Forest Heights neighborhood and include The Blueberry Jam concert and The Blueberry Cook-off competition at Holly Court in Forest Heights. It will also include Gardening Demonstrations focused on food production, invasive plant control and effective landscaping, and a the BikeAthens Blueberry Rally for kids!

Thursday, May 2 @ 6 p.m. - Festival Kickoff at Oglethorpe Garage
LOCATION: 1560 Oglethorpe Ave.
We’re kicking of the Festival with a new event this year at our neighborhood pub, Oglethorpe Garage. In addition to revealing a bunch of cool merchandise, we’ll also open an exhibit of artwork by festival co-founder, Bart King, and hold a community forum with representatives of Athens-Clarke County and our new organizational partners Athens Land Trust.
A food truck will be on site to provide dinner, and (fingers crossed) there may even be a blueberry beer on tap! More details soon!
About this Year’s Merchandise
This year’s gorgeous festival design (above) was created and donated by Kim Deakins of Pink Goblin Tattoo & Piercing. Shirts and other merchandise will be available during all festival events (no pre-sale this year) and proceeds will be used to pay for the costs of the Festival and the Community Blueberry Project.
Home Services Vendors
We’ve developed a list of recommended home service providers for the neighborhood. The providers paid a small sponsor fee to help cover the cost of a professional sound crew and real stage for the 2023 Blueberry Jam. However, we only invited providers to participate, if we knew of at least one Forest Heights resident who gave a favorable review. Thanks to the following sponsors!
