Blueberry Festival Kickoff at Oglethorpe Garage
Pint glasses will be available for purchase at the bar. Other merchandise will be under the tent.
The Forest Heights Blueberry Festival will kick off next Thursday, May 8, at Oglethorpe Garage from 6 - 8 p.m.
Come join us for a preview of what festival day has in store and to meet a few new neighbors! Plus, get a first shot at this year’s great festival merchandise and some classic items from past years — like those pint glasses with Kimberly Deakins’ artwork from 2024.
Oglethorpe Garage is at 1560 Oghlethorpe Avenue. While you’re there, be sure to meet owner and Forest Heights resident, Aaron Wallace, and thank him for his ongoing support of the festival. (He’s the guy behind the bar with the beard!)
Oglethorpe Garage will again be serving drinks during The Blueberry Jam from 5:30-9:30 p.m. on the night of the festival, alongside three food trucks and two dessert stands! More info on that soon.
Thanks to Athens Land Trust, too, which continues to handle the funds raised by the festival and provide sponsorship via insurance coverage for the event.
Are You in for the Blueberry Cook-off?!?
The Blueberry Cook-off takes place from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. on festival day. The only rule is that blueberries must be an ingredient in whatever you prepare. (But you also have to register for one of the 12 participant slots! So, if you want in, sign up soon!)
